Moderator Louis Frost announced the appointment of Rev. Sally Train as interim pastor, beginning November 8.
Rev. Train is currently Assistant Minister at Orinda Community Church working part time and focusing on pastoral care, a women’s spirituality group, and preaching in the senior pastor’s absence. She has been the pastor of the Antioch Congregational Church for 5 years, and the Easton Memorial Church for 2 years. She earned her Master of Divinity degree at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley and completed clinical pastoral care education at Stanford University Hospital. She also does tutoring for learning disabled youth. Before being called to ministry, she was successful in business. She is married, has a teenage daughter, and lives in Walnut Creek
The Interim Pastor Search Committee feels she has the right combination of warmth, enthusiasm, experience, and professional skill for our congregation during the interim time. She will be working with our church half-time and continuing her specialized tutoring in the Walnut Creek area. All are welcome to meet her at the Council meeting on Wednesday, October 25th, at 7:00 PM.
