Listen to Pastor Sally’s First Sermon

Interim Pastor Rev. Sally Train

Rev. Sally Train

Our Interim Pastor, Rev. Sally Train is a graduate of Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, but her first call was way out east, as Minister of Memorial United Church of Christ in Easton, PA. It was there that she met her husband.  After they were married, they moved back to the Bay Area, where she served UCC churches in Sunol and Antioch.

When her daughter was born, she stepped away from full-time ministry, during which time she earned certification in teaching reading and spelling to children with dyslexia, a practice she continues today in after-school programs.

In 2014, after five years away from the pulpit, Rev. Train returned to part-time ministry in relief and interim roles, serving UCC churches in Belmont and Orinda.

Pastor Sally lives in Walnut Creek with her husband, her teenaged daughter, an Australian Shepherd dog and a tabby cat. She says “I am looking forward to a spirit filled year with this warm and wonderful church. Everyone I have met is so vibrant and dedicated! It should be a good year.”
