The Rotating Emergency Shelters Team is a program to provide dinner and a bed for the night to local homeless during the winter months. The shelters rotate from night to night around a circuit of local churches and other non-profits.
Although the FCCSR campus doesn’t have the facilities to house an overnight shelter, one night a month a team from FCCSR goes to one of the rotating shelters to prepare, serve and share a terrific home-cooked meal with the women there. (We even bring flowers for the tables!)
Team members report that, while the cooking is fun, breaking bread — person-to-person — with someone who is on the street can be truly life-changing.
