We have done a variety of Christmas Pageants, keeping mostly true to the Biblical sources, but adding different frames. We have shown the story as if it were being reported by the Jerusalem Evening News. We have had a Roman Senator Special Prosecutor interrogate the witnesses (the Gospel writers). We have had the animals tell the story, have imagined the Nativity happening in Marin, and have had detectives examine the sources as a “cold case.” We have even had a pre-Star Wars episode (‘under the nose of the Empire….”) Christmas carols are always woven through the presentation.
