Gerry is new to FCCSR, having signed on as our Music Director in February 2022, but he has been a familiar figure in Bay Area music for over 30 years. He has served four other churches over the years, working in virtually every style of church music. He also has served as accompanist and vocal coach for a number of school and professional vocal groups and dance companies. His first love, however, is jazz, and he has performed with a long list of leading Bay Area artists as well as his own regular combo. The jazz influence is quietly evident every Sunday in the richness of his hymn accompaniment and in his improvised interludes between sections of the service.
