For many years, members of our congregation have provided meals for those in need. We believe strongly in this opportunity to help our local community as well as to meet them face to face and share a meal and conversation with them.

For about a decade, each month we prepared and served home-cooked meals for about 20 unhoused women at the San Rafael shelter, through the R.E.S.T. program (Rotating Emergency Shelter Team.) Just before the pandemic, the city of San Rafael ended that program.

We are now helping to prepare and are serving dinners in cooperation with The Street Chaplaincy at First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael. We are participating in their Tuesday night meal program once every three months. We purchase the groceries and prepare meals to serve between 60 and 100 people, under the guidance of the chef, in a commercial kitchen.
