Blyth Barnow is a writer, preacher and community organizer in Oakland. In 2015 she launched Feminary, an online ministry with working-class feminist perspective. She is a recent graduate of Pacific School of Religion, where she received a Master of Divinity degree and the Paul Wesley Yinger preaching award.
In this sermon, Ms. Barnow draws on the story of “Doubting Thomas” to explore the deeper nature of doubt and belief in today’s world. She says that much of this message can be traced to her work as a counselor in a rape crisis center, where she was forced to re-examine what it means to “believe” someone who is hurting.
